A Circle C backyard that had surrendered to time — crumbling flagstone patio with moss creeping through every joint, a sun-bleached cedar pergola leaning under its own weight, and bare caliche dirt where the lawn gave up two summers ago. The homeowners wanted a complete outdoor living transformation without the demolition timeline.

The brief: build over the existing bones, not through them. Lay a continuous composite deck plane directly over the flagstone. Reframe the sagging cedar pergola with structural mild steel and CNC-cut shadow panels. Integrate fire, seating, and lighting into the architecture — no aftermarket accessories, no bolt-on fixtures.

Where most contractors would quote a two-week demolition phase before any building could begin, Red Agave turned the existing substrate into the foundation. Every element was custom-fabricated and installed by the same crew — 14 days, zero subcontractors, zero change orders.

Structural · 01 Deck + Pergola System Sea Salt Composite · Mild Steel Reframe 480 sq ft of Dekorators "Sea Salt" composite decking laid in one continuous plane directly over the existing flagstone substrate. The original cedar pergola was stripped to its posts and reframed with structural mild steel. Six CNC-cut 1/4-inch mild steel triangle panels mounted across the top throw geometric shadow patterns that shift with the sun.
